Land Acknowledgement

Red Linen Moon, founded by Sequoya Hayes, is a wellness and social practice consulting firm that provides social work services through a queer feminist lens....

Color Field marks a moment in time that symbolizes remembrance and transformation. A moment that situates the community in a space to reflect on historical trauma and healing. It asks us to reflect on the (physical) spatial impacts of colonization, capitalism, and gentrification. Ultimately, weighing, how have we healed, what are our opportunities for joy, and who (is allowed) gets to experience this?

The Urban Indian Dictionary defines historical healing as “gathering the pieces broken by historical trauma and stitching them together in bold, beautiful, intricate, patterns of strength and resiliency.” @The Urban Indian Health Institute

Color Field asks us to acknowledge and reimagine in cooperation with the land, our investment in what comes next.
